MAGNUS LØVLIE

TENOR



Magnus Løvlie is a young Norwegian lyric tenor and a member of the Young Artist Programme at the Royal Danish Opera for the 2026–28 seasons.

In the 2026/27 season, he appears as Malcolm in Verdi’s Macbeth and Alfred in Johann Strauss’ Die Fledermaus at the Royal Danish Opera, and makes his debut at the Polish National Opera in Warsaw as the Second Jew in Richard Strauss’ Salome.

Magnus made his debut at the Royal Danish Theatre in 2024 as a Lehrbube in Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg in Laurent Pelly’s production and has since appeared there as Borsa in Verdi’s Rigoletto.

His operatic repertoire includes Don Ottavio, Ferrando and Tamino, alongside roles such as Phoebus in The Fairy Queen and Torquemada in L’heure espagnole, with Fenton, Nemorino and Roméo in Roméo et Juliette in preparation.

Equally active on the concert platform, Magnus has performed extensively as Evangelist and tenor soloist in Bach’s major works, including the St John Passion, St Matthew Passion and Christmas Oratorio. His concert repertoire also includes Handel’s Messiah, masses by Haydn and Schubert, Mozart’s Requiem and Mass in C minor.

In April 2026, he made his debut with the Tapiola Sinfonietta in Finland in Bach’s Mass in B minor under the direction of Peter Whelan.
