INGUNN KORSGÅRD HAGEN

CONDUCTOR

Ingunn Korsgård Hagen is one of the most compelling young conductors to emerge from. Scandinavia in recent years, recognised for her musical intelligence, collaborative approach, and natural authority on the podium. She has already worked with leading Nordic orchestras including the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra and Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, collaborating with soloists such as Leif Ove Andsnes, Anastasia Kobekina and Tine Thing Helseth.

From 2023 to 2025, she served as Assistant Conductor of the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, working closely with Chief Conductor Edward Gardner and First Guest Conductor Sir Mark Elder, and appearing on the podium in a number of concerts. This period marked a significant artistic development and led to an increasing presence on the Nordic orchestral scene.

Alongside her symphonic work, Hagen has developed a growing profile in opera. Following her involvement in productions of Strauss’ Elektra and Puccini’s Tosca, she has assisted at both the Royal Danish Opera and Bergen National Opera, and conducted opera projects at the Kirsten Flagstad Festival and Interpuls Festival.

A graduate of the University of Stavanger, she studied conducting with Bjarte Engeset, Peter Szilvay and Trond Korsgård. She is a member of Dirigentforum (Talent Norway), where she has worked with conductors including Daniel Harding, and taken part in masterclasses with the Oslo Philharmonic and Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra under Klaus Mäkelä and Sakari Oramo.

Recent and upcoming debuts include the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Aalborg Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra.

Future engagements include her debut at the Semperoper Dresden in Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti and a debut with Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra.
