Hannah Howard Andresen is a Danish conductor recognised for her thoughtful musicianship, intellectual curiosity and natural authority on the podium. Combining musical sensitivity with compelling leadership, she is rapidly establishing herself as a distinctive new voice on the Nordic and international orchestral scene.

A recipient of the Taki Alsop Conducting Fellowship and the Danish Arts Foundation's Young Artistic Elite Programme, Hannah has participated in some of Europe's leading conducting programmes, including the Gstaad Conducting Academy at the Menuhin Festival, the Conductors' Academy with Paavo Järvi at the Tonhalle Zürich, and the Nordic, Danish and Norwegian Conductors' Forums. Through these programmes she has worked with internationally renowned conductors and leading orchestras while continuing to refine her artistic voice and expand her international profile. In 2026, she was named one of Berlingske's Talent 100, recognising Denmark's most outstanding young talents.

Hannah studied orchestral conducting at the Norwegian Academy of Music, graduating with distinction, and has conducted orchestras including the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, the Gstaad Festival Orchestra and the Biel Solothurn Symphony Orchestra. From 2018 to 2020, she served as Principal Conductor of Oslo's Juniorsymfonikerne, leading regular performances and an international concert tour.

Alongside her conducting career, Hannah brings an interdisciplinary perspective to her artistic practice. She holds a Master of Philosophy in Gender Studies from the University of Oslo, where her award-winning thesis explored leadership, diversity and institutional structures within the orchestral profession. In 2026, she begins doctoral studies at the Norwegian Academy of Music, researching the education and professional development of orchestral conductors. Her artistic and academic work is united by a commitment to exploring the evolving role of the conductor and the future of orchestral leadership.

Committed to shaping the future of the profession, Hannah is the founder of The Conductor of the Future, an interdisciplinary initiative supported by TalentNorge and Sparebankstiftelsen, bringing together artistic practice, research and leadership to strengthen the next generation of conductors.
